Program Areas
The School of Architecture curriculum and faculty research are organized into five Program Areas, with five Concentrations. These provide an opportunity to learn about architecture at different scales with diverse methods and technologies.
Program Areas
Through courses in Building Performance, Detail and Fabrication, Health and Wellbeing, History + Theory + Preservation, and Urbanism, students gain a comprehensive education that prepares them for futures in professional design practice, research, consultancy, academia, and beyond.
If you are a Graduate student, in the M.S. or M.Arch and M.Arch Track 2 program, in a Program Area’s Concentration, you will work with a faculty advisor to select the appropriate courses and credits needed.

Detail and Fabrication
Architecture as a creative process of making.
Health and Wellbeing
Relationships among people, environments, and health.
Urbanism
The impact of architecture on cities and urban habitation.
History + Theory + Preservation
Analyzing the built environment throughout time and across geographies.
