The Heart of HillCo: Celebrating our Incredible Volunteers
The Heart of HillCo: Celebrating our Incredible Volunteers
Dear Hill Country Families,
As we look ahead to Volunteer Appreciation Week next week, I want to give a special shout-out to the numerous volunteers who make HillCo what it is today.
One thing I’ve realized in my short time at the school is that we have some
great
parents. Many of you, great parents, show that greatness through the countless hours you put into volunteering at our school. Here are a few specific shout-outs, but I’m sure I will miss some of the ways your various acts of service bless us.
PTF
: Did you know we have roughly 65 volunteers serving on our PTF every single week? These parents handle it all—from coordinating classroom communications and family events to celebrating our staff and ensuring all PTF events run smoothly.
Home Room and Grade Level Coordinators
: You keep all the grade-specific things running smoothly and with good communication. Thank you for keeping us in the loop on all things HillCo.
Sport-Specific Volunteers
: Did you know it takes around 30 parent volunteers to pull off
one single
home football game? When I learned this, it blew me away. I thought, “I just show up, and everything is amazing,” but nope. A lot of time and energy goes into making every one of these games happen. Thank you! And this is just for football. We have parents who help with every single sport we offer. Thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.
Numerous Class- and Grade-Specific Events
: Last but not least, there are the class parties, the Greek Olympics, the Egyptian Day Feasts, the numerous field studies, the book fair, and every other event we do here at HillCo that takes many hands to make light work.
We are so grateful for every one of you who volunteer your precious time to make the experiences for our students and staff so special. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Grateful for you,
Eric DeVries, Head of School
