Maritime Innovation Ecosystem
Over the last decade, Singapore has built up a respectable maritime innovation ecosystem, comprising a large base of demand drivers (our global hub port and IMC), a vast network of potential solutions providers (technology developers and start-ups), as well as a robust research community (including centres of excellence within local research institutes). This is supported by an enabling environment conducive for growth, with a highly educated workforce, strong protection for intellectual property, and quality R&D infrastructure.
To further enhance the ecosystem, MPA seeks to grow the diversity of ecosystem players, and promote formal collaborations, informal linkages and knowledge-sharing between these players. This includes engaging in international R&D collaborations and knowledge-sharing with partners such as Norway and Rotterdam.
