Centre for Women Development
The Centre for Women Development of P.K.R. Arts College for Women was established in the year 2011 with a mission to empower rural women by inculcating the core values of truth and righteousness for their economic independence, social commitment and national development. The committee organizes workshops on gender sensitization, gender equality, gender discrimination, sexual harassment, domestic violence. The cell conducts awareness on basic knowledge on legal rights for women, health and hygiene, premarital counseling and eve teasing.
The objectives of the cell are:
To promote an equality for women
To ensure protection of women from sexual harassment
To create awareness on right, safety and healthcare
To bring about attitudinal and behavioral change in adolescent female youth
To inculcate social values in women students by conducting community service activities
