Handbook & Dress Code
Welcome to the Thomas Heyward Academy Handbook & Dress Code page. Here you’ll find key policies, guidelines, and expectations that support our mission of fostering a respectful, unified, and dignified learning environment. The handbook covers academics, communication, discipline, athletics, and more.
Before each school year begins, families are asked to review and sign the latest student handbook. Please take time to read through carefully—and contact the administration with any questions.
Dress Code Overview
Our dress code is a visual expression of community and discipline. The full policy is available in the
25-26 Dress Code PDF
and is part of the K5–12 handbook.
Important Notes & Enforcement
· Uniform shirts may be purchased from any vendor, but logos must be from approved sources.
· Approved t-shirts and sweatshirts must be purchased through approved vendors.
· The administration reserves the right to address any dress or grooming not explicitly covered in writing.
· Donated uniforms are available at no charge—please visit the front office for assistance.
Preferred Uniform Vendors
To help families source approved uniform items more easily, we maintain relationships with trusted vendors who provide Thomas Heyward–branded apparel and customization. Below is a list of our preferred vendors:
Eagle Creations
AllPrint Custom Tees
Big D's Royal Tees
Note: Even when ordering through preferred vendors, all apparel must conform to the Thomas Heyward dress code (colors, logo, logo placement, etc). Items with unapproved embroidery, glitter, frayed trim or nonconforming materials will not be allowed. We encourage families to plan ahead—vendors may have lead times for custom orders, especially at the start of the school year.
