We are proud to introduce the B. Sc. Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (B. Sc. FND) program — a forward-looking initiative designed to produce skilled nutrition and dietetics professionals capable of transforming community and clinical health services. This program aims to prepare compassionate leaders who can respond to the growing national and global demand for qualified dietitians and nutrition specialists.
CAFODAT College has also launched the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) program, aligned with the rapidly evolving digital era. This program, like all our academic programs, is offered in collaboration with leading industry partners, ensuring that students receive practical, industry-relevant training that enhances employability and innovation. What is Food and Dairy Technology?
Food technology is a multi-disciplinary field, an application of Food Science and Technology to the selection processing, preservation, quality control, packaging, storage, distribution and use of safe food and dairy product that are consumed. This course provides with an in depth knowledge of the food and dairy products, preparation preservation, quality control, analytical chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, food safety management, which also provides knowledge on nutrition and health implications of food for human consumption.

Food technologist is one of the top career options after completing the course such as:
Wide scope of employment opportunities in Government sector, Food and Dairy industries and National and multi- national organizations.
High demand of Food and Dairy Technologist in National and international job markets

The curriculum of our M.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics program is designed to provide a strong foundation in the principles of nutrition and dietetics and to prepare students for careers in research, clinical practice, community nutrition, and other related fields. I feel fortunate to be one of the members of the CAFODAT college faculties. Because I have two decades of experience with problems in implementing national nutrition programs with non-academic graduates, to address government commitment to eliminate nutritional issues, there is an urgent need for young Nepali professionals with an academic degree in nutrition and related research on the present condition in Nepal. This requires building their capacity to conduct research, develop policy, plan and program implementation at all three federal government levels, and provide technical support to industries. CAFQDAT College and faculties have taken the endeavor to offer quality nutrition & dietetics course to a certain number of students each year to fulfill the above professional requirements of government, private sectors, and industries in Nepal.

This program immerses students in the engineering and scientific principles of food processing, food safety, quality control and assurance. We focus on food chemistry, microbiology, food processing and preservation technologies, and food engineering. Students learn to manage the complex journey of food from raw material to finished product, ensuring safety, quality, and shelf-life stability in an industrial setting.
Bachelor of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (B. Sc. FND)
:
While this program covers food, nutrition and dietetics, we place a heavy emphasis on the Food Science, human nutrition and dietetics aspect. Students explore the scientific composition of food, the impact of processing on nutrient retention, and the development of functional foods and knowledge and skills of appropriate diet therapy throughout the human life cycle. We aim to produce graduates who understand not just what we eat, but the science of how food is created, analyzed, formulated and optimized for health with preventive approaches.
