This week I am exceptionally proud to celebrate Declan A-S in 10OLABODE. Declan truly shone during his work experience last term and none of us were surprised to hear how highly hi employers thought of him after just 2 weeks, as we see how wonderful he is every day! He is unfailingly kind, hard‑working, conscientious and helpful at all times. Declan brings a wonderful sense of humour to everything he does, alongside a real maturity beyond his years. Huge well done to the 19 Art students who attended our final Art Saturday School before their exam last weekend, Mrs Gander said she struggled to get them to leave! 🎨👏
We had 19 art students (over half the cohort) give up their Saturday, staying from 9:30am to 2pm. That level of commitment really speaks volumes. A special shoutout to Fatima and Kady, who were the first to arrive!
So proud of the effort, focus, and dedication they showed. They’re more than ready for what’s ahead 💪✨

We welcome the government’s intent to improve School Food Standards: getting more nutritious food into children and making sure school meals continue to play a positive role in health, wellbeing and the school day.
They have opened a National consultation, and we would really value your contribution by responding to the consultation with your views. You can find details of the scope of the consultation and an online survey to complete here:

We are delighted to be able to confirm the outstanding performance of Harris Rainham Sixth Form after the publication of the DFE-produced league tables for all schools and college across the country. The principal measure of a sixth forms performance is the progress score. This is a measure of the progress students make from their GCSE results to their final exams in year 13. HRSF’s value added score is +0.44 and out of 4,358 schools and colleges for progress, places us the 79th best sixth form in the country. These results mean we have the highest progress score across all schools and colleges in Havering, Barking and Dagenham and Newham.
These outcomes are the product of the hard work and determination of students, parents and staff and demonstrate what can be achieved when students have high expectations of themselves, work hard and are determined to overcome the challenges they face. We are so proud of our students.

Only 21 school days to go until the first GCSE exam… where has the time gone?
Today we came together for our Year 11 whole group photo 📸, a moment that really captures how far this year group has come.
As their Head of Year for nearly 5 years, it’s been a privilege to watch them grow from nervous Year 7s into the resilient, determined young people they are today. They have faced challenges, supported one another, and continued to show strength and character every step of the way.

We are also incredibly proud of our Year 11 Leadership Team, who led a brilliant whole-school bake sale, helping to raise an amazing £300+ for Doorstep Library.
Doorstep Library’s mission is to bring the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of disadvantaged children, helping families develop a love of stories and improve literacy together.
Thank you to everyone who baked, donated, bought cakes, and supported this wonderful cause. Your generosity will help make a real difference by giving more children access to books and the lifelong opportunities that reading brings ❤️

EAL Ambassadors Shine in Local Primary Schools!
Last Thursday, our wonderful EAL Ambassadors visited two of our local primary schools to deliver cultural language lessons, and they did an amazing job from start to finish! The pupils planned their own lesson, created engaging activities for the primary children, and confidently delivered their sessions with enthusiasm and creativity.
The primary pupils were completely captivated. They participated eagerly, asked brilliant questions, and were so enthusiastic that they have already asked for our students to return next year for more lessons. It was a joy to see how positively they responded.
We are incredibly proud of our ambassadors, who represented our school in the most outstanding way. Their hard work, professionalism and passion were clear throughout the entire visit, and they truly showcased the best of our school community.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming newsletter, where you’ll be able to read first‑hand accounts from the ambassadors themselves as they share their experiences and reflections of the day.
Well done to Alina, Evie, Eva, Aliah, Ariana, Logan, Jean-Paul, Daniela, Karla, Ana, Amy, Erica, Emily, Onella, Amira and Maya— you have made our school exceptionally proud!

Today we’re celebrating the incredible girls who took part in the empowering workshop led by Amara Sage as part of our World Book Week initiative.
Inspired by her bestselling novel 'Girl Ultra-Processed', this powerful session created a safe, honest space to talk about body positivity, female insecurities, and the pressures so many young women quietly carry.
Through open conversation and creative writing, these amazing girls explored how words can become a tool for self-expression, healing, and reclaiming their stories. They challenged unrealistic standards, shared their truths with courage, and supported one another with empathy and strength.
Watching them use writing as a voice — not just on the page, but in their lives — was nothing short of inspiring and testament to the compassionate young women they have become💛
Here’s to owning our narratives.
Here’s to embracing our bodies.
Here’s to speaking our truths — boldly and unapologetically.
We are so proud of every single one of you🌟

Message from Head of Year 8:
I'm pleased to congratulate Jack W in 8Dharmani, who has recently been awarded a Jack Petchey Award by his football club, Broomfield FC, in recognition of his commitment and focus. Jack plays left back for Broomfield’s Year 9 team, regularly demonstrating both determination and a strong work ethic on the pitch. This award is a well-deserved recognition of the dedication he shows to his team and to improving his game.
Jack’s football ability is also clear during school fixtures, where he plays as goalkeeper for our Year 8 team. His performance in our most recent match was outstanding, playing a pivotal role in the team’s 7–1 victory. Congratulations to Jack on this excellent achievement. It is great to see his commitment to sport being recognised both at his club and here at school. - Mr Ward

I am so incredibly proud of the wonderful feedback we’ve received about so many of our Year 10 students during their two weeks on work experience! From visits, phone calls and emails, employers have praised their professionalism, enthusiasm, and maturity amongst many other things. They have truly represented Harris Academy Rainham brilliantly. I hope all students have enjoyed their placements, learned something new, and grown in confidence. We can’t wait to welcome them back into the academy on Monday and hear all about their experiences. 📚 World Book Day Celebration📚
Today we celebrated World Book Day with some fantastic activities across the school. A huge well done to all of our students who took part in the National Literacy Trust quiz, showing great enthusiasm for reading and literacy.

- Mr Ward
