Thirty-six students spanning grades 3-12 shared their talents in various performing art forms during the annual Spring Recital, held April 19 in the Berry Performing Arts Center. The record number of students who auditioned made it necessary for Mrs. Sharon Byrne, Performing Arts Department Chair, to split the event into two recitals – one for Lower and Middle School and another for Upper School.
The 2 p.m. recital for Lower and Middle School students featured a wide variety of performances, including voice, cello, piano, dance, trumpet, guitar and saxophone. The 4:30 p.m. recital for Upper School performers included another impressive array, including alto saxophone, flute, piano and harp in addition to several wonderful vocals.
Each session ended with performers receiving a flower and certificate on the stage. Mrs. Byrne saluted the students for their commitment and dedication to music and thanked them for sharing their talents with the W+H community.
