The French University in Egypt (UFE) is a national non-profit university that strives for multidisciplinary teaching, research, and professional integration. It operates under the dual supervision of the Egyptian and French Ministries of Higher Education.With the objective of providing French higher education opportunities to young Egyptians, UFE conducts its programs in English.
Established in 2002 and further strengthened by an intergovernmental agreement in 2019, UFE embodies the collaboration between Egypt and France to offer privileged access to French university education within Egypt. It serves as a dedicated platform for excellence in education and research.
Promoting student and researcher mobility is one of UFE's core objectives. Students have the opportunity to pursue a semester abroad, while UFE encourages students from partner universities to explore the Arab world and gain an understanding of new economies. UFE researchers are actively encouraged to collaborate with French laboratories, and doctoral students have the opportunity to enroll in a dual doctorate program between Egypt and France.
Situated in Shourouk, in close proximity to Cairo city center, New Cairo, and the new capital, the UFE campus is currently undergoing expansion to accommodate 3,000 students by 2030 and 7,000 students by 2030, adhering to global standards of excellence.
