more personal connection with faculty, who are really passionate about what they do.
They prepared me well, and I’m grateful to have been able to learn from them. Coming

Course-based research experiences opens science opportunities
John Cisneros, a chemistry major, found his passion for research through his early
experiences with CUREs classes. Finding that passion has refocused Cisneros’ educational
goals. He is now highly focused on research, working on three different projects.He
presented his research on creating new insect-repelling molecules this winter at the
annual conference of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native
Americans in Science.
