Resource Adequacy and Reliability Study
The
Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA)
tasks the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), and Illinois Power Agency (IPA) with jointly preparing a report that examines:
The state’s progress toward its renewable energy development goals,
CO2 and co-pollutant emissions reductions,
The status of green hydrogen technologies,
Projected resource adequacy and power grid reliability over the next five years, and
Proposed policy solutions to relevant report findings
The final resource adequacy study must be released and presented to the Illinois General Assembly by December 15, 2025 in accordance with the requirements of Section 9.15, subsection (o) of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Act.
