Treating nervous system disorders
The treatment of neurological problems and disorders begins with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nervous system, including the brain, the spinal cord and the nerves. One key difference between Neurology & Neurosurgery is that neurologists do not perform surgery. They treat conditions such as migraine, dementia and neuropathy with therapies and medications and treat many other conditions in adults and children.

Getting started
Whether it is a traumatic brain injury incurred in an accident or a head injury from a fall, patients should start with their primary care provider to evaluate symptoms and conditions. From there, providers guide you toward the next step of meeting with either a neurologist or a neurosurgeon.
