Mr Ishwar Singh
Mr. Ishwar Singh
is a Civil Engineering graduate from MNIT, Jaipur, and holds an LL.B. from Punjab University. He also earned the Associate of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy Diploma (equivalent to M.Sc. Forestry). A 1988-batch IFS officer of AGMUT cadre, he retired as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, NCT Delhi, after over 34 years of service. He held key positions including Chief Wildlife Warden, PCCF, Member Secretary of Ridge Management Board, Director (Environment), CEO of Chandigarh Medicinal Plants Board and Animal Welfare Board, and Member of the Pollution Control Committee.
He played a major role in planning and executing Greening Action Plans in Delhi and Chandigarh, earning the
Indira Priyadarshini Vriksha Mitra Award
. He led biodiversity restoration by removing invasive species like
Lantana
from Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary and established a 175-acre Botanical Garden in Chandigarh. He contributed to banning polythene bags and launched the “Waste to Wealth” initiative.
