That’s why the birthing center at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is called the First Impressions — because your first moments matter.
A warm welcome for growing families
Welcome your little miracle in the safe, relaxing environment of our First Impressions Birthing Center. Our labor and delivery nurses are highly regarded for anticipating our patients’ needs and providing kind and effective care that makes sure your loved ones are welcomed as you wish during your birthing experience. Our prenatal, birthing, and postpartum services include:
One-on-one nursing support during labor
24-hour lactation support
Unlimited visiting hours
Natural birthing services
Education about delivery and what to expect after you deliver
Classes and support
Preparing for childbirth
We offer a series of classes for expectant mothers and parents to prepare for the birth of their child. Each class focuses on different aspects of the delivery experience, including how to recognize labor, pain management during labor, red flags, reasons to go to the hospital, and what to expect with a vaginal vs. a C-section birth. New infant and parenting information, such as breastfeeding and car seat safety, is also included.

Breastfeeding is a personal decision. Our team wants to support you with education, tips, and tools to help you make the best choice for you and your baby. Our labor and delivery nurses are trained to help you and your baby make a good breastfeeding connection. You can request a lactation consultation at any time from pregnancy to weaning. To schedule an appointment, give us a call.
