Because we use a rolling admissions process, there is no deadline to apply. As a first year undergraduate student, there are two ways to apply for admission:

For an application to be considered for admission, the following items are recommended:
Completed application form
Self reported high school GPA (unweighted and weighted if possible) or GED certification (if applicable)
SAT or ACT or CLT score*
*If you can't provide one of these scores, please submit a 250 word personal essay on a topic of your choice.
Those students that enroll at Wingate University must submit official final high-school transcripts and test scores (if applicable) before enrolling. Although some flexibility may be allowed, the following high school course distribution is recommended:

Admissions Appeal Process
To confirm enrollment, a prospective first -year student, readmit, or transfer student should submit an enrollment deposit. Enrollment deposits are refundable upon written request until May1st for fall semester enrollment and November 1st for spring semester enrollment. An enrollment deposit which has been transferred from an earlier term is non-refundable. Once enrolled, the enrollment deposit will be posted to the student's first term of enrollment as payment towards tuition. Admissions and Financial Planning reserve the right to scholarship an enrollment deposit on a case by case basis.
We recommend that incoming transfer students carry at least a 2.5 cumulative college GPA. That said, we look at the whole picture when evaluating potential students. If in doubt, apply as a transfer student and allow us to work together to find the best fit for you.

Expect a decision within two weeks once all requested paperwork has been received.
*We recommend that students have satisfactorily completed 13 academic units in high school, including:
Four units of English
Three units of mathematics including Algebra 1, Algebra II and Geometry
Two units of natural science including one lab science
Two units of history
Two units of foreign language
**We recommend a minimum GPA of 2.5. ***Test scores are not required for U.S. citizens who’ve been out of high school for more than five years or for those with more than 24 transferable college credit hours. Non-U.S. citizens: Please see our information for international students.

from a school official. We will not accept transcripts sent to us from students as official transcripts.
Transfer student applicants are required to send us a certified evaluation of high school and college transcripts. We recommend a course by course evaluation and the following companies:

Note that translated and evaluated official final transcripts are also required for enrollment.
5. Submit official standardized test scores if applicable.
6. Expect a decision within two weeks once all requested application items have been received.
7. If admitted, complete the International Processing Form, and pay the $100 non-refundable international processing fee. Fall semester applications must be received no later than

8. Upon acceptance, students will be awarded a merit based scholarship. Additional financial aid is available for international students, and eligibility for that aid is determined by the financial information you provide

Transcripts and Scores
GED transcripts: We don’t need your GED diploma, but we do need your test scores. To get your transcript, you’ll need to contact the institution where you took your GED.
High school transcripts: To get your high school transcripts, you’ll need to contact the board of education for the county where you graduated.
International transcripts: Both your international high school and college transcripts need to be evaluated by a
National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member organization
as a part of your admissions process. This allows us to determine which of your credits apply toward your degree from Wingate University.
Military transcripts: Air Force transcripts can be requested through the
Community College of the Air Force

Scores: Requesting score reports can be costly and time-consuming. We don’t want you spending unnecessary time or money sending these scores to us. Not all credits are accepted, so if you are hoping to transfer AP credits, CLEP credits or DANTES credits, you’ll want to review how Wingate University handles these. Application for Re-Admit Student
If you’ve taken a break from your studies and now feel ready to return to Wingate University, you probably want to know more about our re-admittance policy.
Am I considered a re-admit student?
If you were enrolled at Wingate University in the past and wish to return as an undergraduate student, you’re considered a re-admit student.
You will need to reapply and provide information about any schools you’ve attended since you left. You’ll also need to be in good standing with the university administration. If there were reasons why you left that have to do with disciplinary, financial or other reasons, we have a specific process for you to follow in order to be reinstated in good standing.
When you’re ready to return to Wingate, you will need to submit your
readmit application
along with official transcripts from any schools that you have attended after leaving Wingate.
If five years have elapsed since you were last enrolled at Wingate University, request your official high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions. GED certificates are also acceptable.
College transcripts can be sent to Wingate University electronically with Clearinghouse or Parchment or mailed to Wingate University, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 102 West Wilson Street, Wingate, NC 28174.
Once your readmit application has been received the Admissions Office will reach out to the Business Office, Registrar's Office, and Student Life to make sure you are eligible to return. If you are not eligible to return, the Admissions Office will notify you and let you know your next steps. If you are eligible to return then your readmit application will be reviewed and you will receive a decision within two weeks.
Once you are readmitted to the university, you will need to contact the Admissions Office to pay your $300 enrollment deposit.

What financial aid is available?
If you’ve taken college classes elsewhere during your leave from Wingate University, we will re-evaluate your academic profile and scholarship information. If you’ve left Wingate University and are returning within less than one academic year, you’re still eligible for your original academic scholarship. Either way, the next step is to complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid
and we will recalculate your aid and walk you through the process. In the meantime, if you have any questions you should contact the Office of Admissions.
