Does Denver Academy accept students outside of Denver Public School boundaries?
Yes! Denver Academy does not enforce any school boundaries.
Does Denver Academy provide before and after-school child care?
Denver Academy does not provide any before-school care or activities. DA does offer after-school activities. For students in grades 2-6, we offer
Homework Club
.
Students in grades 6-12 have a variety of
after-school clubs
and
sports
opportunities each quarter.
Does Denver Academy provide lunch for students?
LunchLink, DA's hot lunch program, offers restaurant options including: Mici Handcrafted Italian, Renegade Burrito, Chick-Fil-A, Noodles & Company, and Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe.

Does Denver Academy provide transportation to school?
No. However, we do participate in the regional, government-sponsored carpool program

bus and rail station.
How many students are in a class?
Each class has 12-14 students. Most classes have a teacher as well as a teaching assistant in order to provide the best individualized education to your student and a student/faculty ratio of seven to one.
What extracurricular opportunities does Denver Academy offer?
Denver Academy offers several extracurricular activities, including
clubs and organizations

What is Denver Academy’s school schedule?
The Elementary/6th Grade and Middle School divisions begin class at 8:15 a.m. and are dismissed at 3 p.m. DA High School classes begin at 8 a.m. and are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.

Where can I buy DA spirit wear and accessories?
Our school spirit store is located on the second floor in DA's Administration Building. Spirit store hours during the school year are Mondays through Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; other times and summer hours are by appointment only. We typically stock youth and adult sizes in t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. We also offer ball caps, winter hats, water bottles, and more. For questions about our spirit wear offerings, contact

What testing is required as part of the application process?
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC V) administered within the last 3 years and including the index scores and all subtest scores.  One (1) of the following Academic Achievement Tests administered within the current school year: Woodcock-Johnson Achievement Test (WJ); Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT); Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement (KTEA).
If either/both of the above tests are part of a broader evaluation or assessment, such as a psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation, you must submit the evaluation in its entirety.  Do not separate out pages.
Can my student(s) visit Denver Academy?
Yes! After you have had an information meeting with DA's Enrollment Management Team and have begun the application process, you may request to schedule a day visit for your student.

How is tuition assistance awarded?
Tuition assistance is based on a family’s ability to pay tuition as determined by DA’s Financial Aid Committee and an outside service:

Is an official diagnosis of a learning difference required?
No.
What can we expect when my student comes for a day-visit at Denver Academy?
A day-visit at Denver Academy allows your student to gain a better understanding of what makes Denver Academy different. During a day-visit, your student will actually be participating in classes carefully selected just for them. Your student will visit the grade for which they are applying. Lunch is provided.
What is the cost of tuition?
For the 2025-26 school year, the cost of tuition for grades 2-6 is $36,560 and for grades 7-12 is $39,500.
DA strives to be as comprehensive with tuition as possible. On average, 30% of DA families receive
tuition assistance
,
which is available for families who qualify based on need.
What is the difference between an information meeting and a family interview?
The information meeting is the first initial meeting that allows you to learn what makes Denver Academy different from other schools and whether DA is the right fit for your student(s). A family interview is the final step in the application process which is initiated by Denver Academy for selected students.
When and how will I be notified of my admissions status?
Within a week after your family interview, you will be notified via email of your admissions status.
