The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools and academies with pupils that are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years; those who are looked after children (LAC); and those who are service children.
The targeted and strategic use of Pupil Premium will support the Academy in achieving our aim of helping every student to achieve to their full potential.

Who benefits from the Pupil Premium?
All the strategies that have been identified from the Sutton Trust and EEF that are most beneficial to our Pupil Premium students are:
Feedback and Marking
Parental Engagement
Peer Tutoring
Modelling and Questioning
Oracy – speech language and communication
Metacognition and target setting
Homework
Mastery learning in English and Maths
All of the above have been recommended by the EEF as cost effective, yet high impact strategies for pupil premium students.
In addition to the classroom focus, we have developed a programme of bespoke intervention which focuses on the emotional and physical well-being of students with more complex needs. A large percentage of our pupil premium students access the range of support, both in class intervention, outside curriculum time and enrichment.  The academy also works closely with external agencies and local post-16 establishments, working towards future aspirations and supporting mental well-being.
We still continue to offer intervention across the curriculum. We have also engaged an NPT English tutor to deliver 1:1 and small workshops.  House Leaders, Teachers and support staff: monitor, track academic and pastoral progress students; ensuring the necessary interventions are actioned with impact.
Support takes the form of: resources for exams, equipment, uniform, access to enrichment, as well as access to revision days and post-16 experiences at Keele University, NULC and Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form.
