Godfrey Okoye University Enugu has once again demonstrated its commitment to celebrating excellence, character, and extraordinary contribution to society.
At the 2025 Professorial Investiture, Emeritus Professorship Conferment and Hall of Fame Induction, the Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, conferred honours on four distinguished academics and inducted a former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barrister Sullivan Chime, into the University’s prestigious Hall of Fame.
Also inducted into the Hall of Fame were individuals whose outstanding achievements and exemplary conduct continue to inspire the university community:
Barr Sullivan I. Chime – Former Governor of Enugu State
Miss Mary Nkenna Azubuike – Best Graduating Student, 2024/2025
Miss Kachisicho Chinecherem Ihekaba – Vice Chancellor for One Day, 2023/2024
Miss Princess Chinyere Ekwe – Vice Chancellor for One Day, 2024/2025
Reverend Father Professor Anieke noted that these honours were reserved for those who have made extraordinary contributions to the growth and reputation of the university. He urged students to emulate leaders who uphold integrity and good behaviour while distancing themselves from any form of corruption.
In his remarks, Barrister Sullivan Chime expressed deep gratitude to the management of the university for recognizing him long after leaving public office. He encouraged students, especially the male students, to show greater commitment to their academic pursuits and strive to excel like their female counterparts who continue to blaze the trail.
Godfrey Okoye University remains steadfast in acknowledging excellence and shaping leaders who will influence the world with character and intelligence.
