Data & Results
Faith communities and service organizations can play an important role in promoting health and reducing the risk of chronic disease. Service organizations include cultural, historical, fraternal, sororal, veteran or other community groups. Many look to their faith communities or service organizations for social support, information on family life, and to manage life's challenges. Studies have found church-based health interventions can have a small to moderate effect on physical activity and eating fruits and vegetables.
