Up Magazine feature on Raisa Nosova and the Woman of Light mural created especially for the Museum of Motherhood in St Pete. Nosova, who holds her MFA from the New York University and her BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Raisa has recently finished a mural in Milan, Italy, commissioned by the mayor of the comune Corbetta as well as a mural commissioned by the Concord Hotel, in Manhattan, NY. She has also done street art in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City, Hoboken, and Berlin. Beside street art, Raisa is best known for her blown glass sculptural work, depicting the experiences of motherhood postpartum.

Can you tell us about the forthcoming collaboration between the gallery and the Museum of Motherhood (MoM)?
Tampa Bay’s first and only women’s museum, MoM, highlights m/others and others in the arts, science, and herstory-making waves and changing narratives. The OXH ‘We Build Tampa Bay’ collaboration, is a culture-building initiative signaling a shift in Tampa Bay’s cultural landscape. It will bring together visionary artists, collectors, and supporters in a celebration of “Mother Made Art,” highlighting the cultural, social, and historical significance of women, mothers, and families.

In their first ribbon cutting of 2025, leaders from the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce cut the “umbilical cord” Friday on the Museum of Motherhood’s newest attraction: the “Escape Womb.” The
Museum of Motherhood
(or MoM, for short), located in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District, is the country’s first and only exhibition and education center devoted to the art, science and “her-story” of women, mothers and families inclusive of all reproductive identities. The nonprofit museum’s new immersive escape room was created to transform the way visitors experience reproductive science and maternal history.
