Counseling
We recognize that as our students grow and mature from 6-12 grade, they will need guidance and support, especially when it comes to navigating through academic, personal, and social pressures of adolescence. Our 6-person counseling staff works directly with teachers, coordinators, advisors, and administrators to support the wellness and wellbeing of all of our students.
Our counseling team provides a safe, confidential space for students while supporting their social, emotional, and developmental growth. Counselors help students navigate transitions, build problem-solving skills, and develop self-advocacy. They also connect families with resources, partner with faculty to support individual needs, and offer guidance lessons and programming across grade levels. In addition, SAAS partners with
Forefront Suicide Prevention
at the University of Washington to provide annual community-wide training and works with the Parent Education Committee to bring in speakers on adolescent mental health.
