“Dr. Babale appointed new Rector of Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo”
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Babale Gashua as the new Rector of Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo Gombe State.
His appointment was conveyed via a letter dated 3rd June, 2025 and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja Mr. Ebel O. Enitan.
Until his appointment, Dr. Babale was the Deputy Rector, Administration at the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu and also the Chairman Governing board of the proposed FedPoly Damaturu FM Radio Station. He had also served as the Head of Department of Science Laboratory Technology( SLT).
Dr. Babale is a member of various professional bodies and had presented papers in both local and international conferences. He had authored and written several books and academic journals in both his area of specialization and humanity.
Dr. Babale will take over from the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic Ms. Eldah Epriam Buba who served deligently within a short period of time. He will serve for a single tenure of five (5) years, effective from 21st May, 2025.

Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo was established to give students an education and experiences that set them up for success in a career. The Institution was established under “Act 2019 Establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo Dated 3rd July, 2019”.
From the date of its inception in 2019, the Polytechnic has judiciously utilized its take-off grants from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), and 2021 budgetary allocation as well as grants and donations from other organizations to execute a number of physical projects.
