Peoples' World Constituent Assembly (1950-51):
Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists:
On July 10, 1948, the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists passed the following resolution:
"Whereas, the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, having explored for two years all means other than world government for making responsible the control of atomic energy, has become convinced that no other method than world government can be expected to prove effective, and that the attainment of world government is therefore the most urgent problem now facing mankind,
Therefore, be it resolved
, That the Emergency Committee heartily endorses the effort now being made to secure American participation in the Crusade for a Peoples' World Convention, sponsored in Britain by the so-called Usborne Committee, as the most promising method now offered for promoting world government."

Sponsors of the Peoples' World Convention:
"We, the undersigned, who believe that the world is in mortal danger of self-destruction through war, wish to recommend to you as seriously as we can the proposals for a Peoples' World Constituent Assembly to be held in 1950.
Confronted by the means of destruction that are now in the hands of men, differences of politics, race and creed are beside the point. These things will virtually cease to exist along with the human race unless mankind agrees to the establishment of a World Government, capable of enforcing world law. Only in this way can war be averted and peace and plenty for humanity, which we all desire, be made possible.
The choice is indeed between one world or none."

Financing the Assembly:
The Peoples' World Convention Executive Committee on Arrangements adopted the plan of issuing 'World Federal Government Certificates' for contributions. Peoples' World Convention Executive Committee on Arrangements pledges its best efforts to have them redeemed with interest by the future world government.
[Note: The
World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA)
, which has emerged from the
North American Council for a Peoples' World Constitutional Convention
established by the
Continuation Committee of the Peoples' World Convention
, recognizes the pledges made by the
Peoples' World Convention Executive Committee on Arrangements
. And as a organizing and development agency for the
Provisional World Government
, appointed by the
Second World Constituent Assembly
, WCPA urges holders of the World Federal Government Certificates—issued by the Peoples' World Convention Executive Committee on Arrangements—to register their certificates with the established
World Financial Administration
of the emerging World Government.]
