Ag. Vice Chancellor’s Profile
Dr Stephen Banahene, the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University holds a PhD in Service Marketing (Business Management) from Universidad Empresarial De Costa Rica, Costa Rica, with expertise in Service Quality, Brand Management, and Competitive Strategies for Private Universities as well as Small and Medium Scale Enterprises including Consultancy Works in Marketing.
Dr Stephen Banahene is a Senior Lecturer and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), United Kingdom. He has fourteen years’ experience in teaching, research, academic programme development and review, and supervision of teaching and research of academic staff. He has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students in the conduct of their research at the Christian Service University.
Dr Banahene holds Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, Chartered Institute of Marketing, London School of Marketing, London, United Kingdom and MA in Industrial Management Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi – Ghana. He was a lecturer in Sunyani Technical University, formerly, Sunyani Polytechnic and has previous working experience with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and the National Commission for Civic Education before joining CSU. He has also served as External Examiner for the University for Development Studies for a considerable number of years.
Until his appointment as the Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Banahene was the Dean of the CSU Business School. He has served in several administrative positions at the Department, Faculty and University-wide levels namely; Head of Department of Management & General Studies, the Acting Dean, School of Graduate Studies and Research including his membership to a number of committees and boards. He was also the Staff Representative on Christian Service University Council for six years and is currently a member of the Management Board of CSU. Dr. Banahene is a regular reviewer for a number of peer reviewed Journals with about sixteen articles to his credit and has presented several papers at local and international conferences.
He is a Christian and is blessed with three children.

The Registrar’s Profile
Mr Doku was the Registrar at the University of Mines and Technology, (UMaT) Tarkwa, from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, he held various positions as Acting Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar and Assistant Registrar as well as other lectureship positions. At the University of Mines and Technology, he served as the Secretary to the University Council and other committees of the Council including the Standing and Finance Committee, Development Committee, University Strategic Committee, Disciplinary and Statutes Review Committee.
He was also the Secretary to the Executive Committee, Academic Board, Welfare Services Board, Council/Academic Board Committee on Honorary Degrees, and University
Appointments and Promotions Committee (Senior Members). Mr Doku still serves as an External Assessor of Promotions of Senior Members, Administrative
and Professionals to four (4) Universities in Ghana. He has attended several conferences, seminars and other training programmes in higher education at various universities within Ghana and internationally. He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Management (GIM), Civilian Institutes of Democratic Administration (CIDA) and a Member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) where he served as the President for the UMaT Branch for several years.
Mr Doku holds a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He has acquired significant experience in University Governance, Management and Administration and has to his credit, a good number of publications in highly reputed journals. The new Registrar is deemed poised for the executive administrative position and pledges to bring his rich experiences and knowledge to advance the vision and mission of CSU. Mr Doku is a Christian and is married with three (3) children.

Rev. Anthony Boateng Agyenim is a seasoned religious and administrative leader with wide experience in Pastoral and Church ministries and long standing team leadership training and supervisory experience with excellent inter-cultural and communication skills . He was educated in Ghana, Sierra Leone and the UK and speaks English, Twi, Krio, French and has a working knowledge in Latin.
He holds a Master Of Theology degree in Systematic Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, Accra; B.A. Hons (Theology) from the Univeristy of Wales, Lampeter, UK in addition to Diplomas in Sales Management, Administration and Marketing from the College of Professional Studies, Jersey, UK.
Several Leadership Seminars in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Turkey, Brazil etc has widened his scope of education, leadership and intercultural perspectives. His ministerial experience has been gained in serving as Assistant Pastor of Trinity United Church , Legon, Accra and several positions in the Presbyterian Church of Sierra Leone where he rose through the ranks to become the Stated Clerk of General Assembly of that Church for several years before taken up his current position as Chaplain of Christian Service University in Kumasi, Ghana.
He and his wife Helen are blessed with four (4) children.

Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankrah, known among colleagues and students as “Rabbi”, is a seasoned academic, researcher, and theologian with over two decades of experience in education. He has significantly impacted generations of learners and scholars. A proud alumnus of CSU.
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is a Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies in the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Theology at CSU. He joined the university in 2015 as a part-time lecturer and became a permanent faculty member in 2019. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in August 2024. Currently at CSU, he serves as Dean of the Weekend School (2024–present), and previously served as Coordinator of the MA in Christian Ministry and Management programme (2020–2024). He is also the Chair of the University Mentorship Team (2023–present).
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah holds a PhD in Religious Studies with specialization in Biblical Studies – Old Testament from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST-Ghana), awarded in 2023. His research focuses on Biblical Studies, Old Testament Studies in the context of African life and thought, and Biblical Hebrew interpretations. He also holds an MPhil in Religious Studies from KNUST, a BA in Theology with Administration from Christian Service University, and was trained as a professional teacher at Akrokerri College of Education.
Prior to joining CSU, he held both part-time and full-time lectureship positions at several private university colleges, including Synagogé Biblical College, Ghana, where he has served since 2016. He also dedicated 14 years to the Ghana Education Service (both public and private schools) as a teacher of Religious and Moral Education and English Language, during which he served in various leadership roles including Academic Head, Acting Headmaster, and Housemaster.
Dr. Twumasi-Ankrah is widely respected for his passion for academic excellence and integrity. He is a mentor and examiner, shaping both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and nurturing future theologians and ministry leaders with depth and discipline. His academic leadership is matched by a strong publication record and active peer engagement.

Deans Representative’s Profile
Dr. Cynthia Pomaa Akuoko is a Senior Lecturer, and the Dean of Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences of the University.She holds a PhD, Nursing, from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia. Her PhD dissertation explored health service and supportive care needs of women with advanced breast cancer in Ghana.
Her Research Identifies both the women and their health care providers, and key informants, perceived women with ABC have numerous and complex supportive care needs in key areas that align with Fitch’s supportive care framework which includes informational, psychological, emotional, physical, practical, social, sexuality and spiritual needs. Her Research interest covers infection prevention and general nursing with specialties in Oncology, supportive and palliative care. She is a Professional member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana (NMC), African Palliative Care Association (APCA), Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), among others.
She has accumulated over a decade lectureship experience with several community services at CSU and wishes to extend her expertise to support her Faculty, especially, the Nursing and Midwifery departments, in developing its student-learners.

Profile
As a Research pundit, an old student of CSC and a proud alumnus of now CSU, my primary
objective is to make CSU, a Research University that seeks to attract both local and
international scholars to promote research developments to advance the academic excellence,
the University seeks to pursue. To achieve that, plans are underway to establish a

The governing Council of Christian Service University (CSU), Kumasi, has appointed
Rev. Prof. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, an Associate Professor, as the new Dean, School of Graduate
Studies and Research (SGSR), effective September 1, 2021.
Prof. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, was the immediate past President of the Ghana Baptist University
College (GBUC), Kumasi, from August 2016 to July 2021. Prior to that, he was the Dean,
School of Theology and Ministry at the Ghana Baptist University College after rising through
various lectureship positions from an Adjunct Lecturer to Associate Professor till 2020. His
research interest is African Reflection on Old Testament Texts.
He served in membership capacities through to the Chairmanship positions of the Executive
Management Committee and Academic Board of GBUC respectively.
As part of his service as an assessor and external examiner with a number of Masters and
Doctoral Degrees thesis and dissertation supervision, Prof. Adu-Gyamfi served as an External
Examiner to Christian Service University College, Graduate School, from 2017 to 2018, and an
External Examiner to University of Geneva in 2020.
Prof. Adu-Gyamfi has also attended and presented at several conferences and seminars on
development of higher education including research workshops at various universities within
Ghana, Africa and beyond.
His recent major institutional-related initiatives included; Ghana Baptist University College’s
collaboration with Bowen University, Nigeria, 2020 and partnership with Cyber Ghana, 2020. He
has been a Research Fellow of University of the Western Cape, South Africa since 2012 and an
Affiliate member of the Society of Biblical Literature.
Prof. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Old Testament Studies from the
University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, 2007, a Master of Philosophy in Old Testament
Studies, University of the Western Cape, South Africa, 2000 and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons)
degree in Biblical Studies, University of the Western Cape, South Africa, 1998. He also has a
Diploma in Theology from the University of Ghana, 1994, and another Diploma in Biblical
Studies (ACTEA), from Christian Service College (CSC), Kumasi, Ghana, 1994.
He has acquired significant experience in University governance and management to his credit,
taught at Northern Baptist College, Manchester, UK and Springdale College, Leeds, UK. He has
authored two (2) Books, contributed chapters in books and published a number of peer reviewed
articles in highly reputed journals such as Scriptura and Old Testament Essays.
He is a staunch Christian and an ordained Minister of the Ghana Baptist Convention, and a
Minister of the Baptist Union of Great Britain with thirty (30) years of pastoral experience. He is
a Motivational speaker, writer, editor and a contributer of the Old Testament Team of the Bible
Society of Ghana.
Rev.Yaw Adu-Gyamfi is from Kukuom in Ahafo Region and married to Victoria with four (4)
children.
