Overview of Digital Agency
As a control tower for shaping a digital society, the Digital Agency promotes Digital Transformation (DX) initiatives to build public and private infrastructure for the digital age. Our goal is to ensure that all citizens benefit from digitalisation by creating services and utilizing data with a focus on people’s needs while advancing DX across society.

Organizational structure
Organizational Structure (as of December 10, 2025)
The Digital Agency is structured into four main groups along with an Experts Unit. The groups are the Strategy and Organization Group, the Digital Interoperability Framework Group, the Service for Citizens Group, and the Information Systems for Government Uses Group. Experts Unit consists of members with various areas of expertise, and projects are assigned based on their specific skills and knowledge.

Japan Agency for Local Authority Information Systems is a corporation that issues My Number Card and maintains and operates various systems that support My Number System. It supports the foundation of My Number System and promotes informatization by local governments.
National Printing Bureau (NPB)
To effectively develop Japan’s Public Basic Information Database and related systems, the National Printing Bureau carries out operations assigned by government agencies. This includes processing, recording, storing, and providing data, as well as operating and maintaining essential systems required for these activities.
Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA)
The Information-technology Promotion Agency is an Incorporated Administrative Agency that provides digital infrastructure, fosters digital human resources, and ensures cybersecurity.
