Operational Patrol Services
Operational Patrol Services is the largest single division of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary with approximately 190 uniformed officers across the province. Patrol officers reflect the diversity of our communities. They are the RNC’s first responders and the visible police presence in the communities we serve.
Patrol officers work to protect the safety and security of residents of the province every day, 24 hours a day, responding to calls-for-service, including emergencies reported to 911. Patrol officers respond to a wide variety of calls-for-service including criminal and non-criminal calls. They investigate crimes, apprehend suspects, and provide security at public events
Patrol officers call upon other police resources as needed to promote public safety. With training in crisis intervention, patrol officers recognize the compassion and empathy required to support members of our communities through traumatic experiences.
Operational Patrol Services also includes:
Traffic Services and Accident Investigation
