विश्वविद्यालय परिचय
उज्जैन के सांस्कृतिक और पौराणिक महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए राज्य शासन ने संस्कृत भाषा और प्राचीन ज्ञान विज्ञान के अभिवर्धन एवं प्रसार हेतु उज्जैन में संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया। महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम 2006 क्रमांक 15 सन् 2008 के तहत 15 अगस्त 2008 से महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय उज्जैन की स्थापना की गई.

Ujjain - Culture & Heritage
Ujjain is an ancient and historical city that is 5000 years old. It is described as the best city in Adi Brahma Puran, and it is called Mokshada and Bhukti-Mukti in Agni Puran and Garuda Puran respectively. This city was once the capital of a big empire.
This city has a glorious history. According to religious books, this city has never seen destruction because Mahakal, the god of destruction, himself resides here. According to Garuda Purana, seven cities can provide salvation and among them, the city of Avantika is considered the best as the importance of Ujjain is slightly higher than other cities.

विश्वविद्यालय परिचय
उज्जैन के सांस्कृतिक और पौराणिक महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए राज्य शासन ने संस्कृत भाषा और प्राचीन ज्ञान विज्ञान के अभिवर्धन एवं प्रसार हेतु उज्जैन में संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया। महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम 2006 क्रमांक 15 सन् 2008 के तहत 15 अगस्त 2008 से महर्षि पाणिनि संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय उज्जैन की स्थापना की गई.

Ujjain is an ancient and historical city that is 5000 years old. It is described as the best city in Adi Brahma Puran, and it is called Mokshada and Bhukti-Mukti in Agni Puran and Garuda Puran respectively. This city was once the capital of a big empire.
This city has a glorious history. According to religious books, this city has never seen destruction because Mahakal, the god of destruction, himself resides here. According to Garuda Purana, seven cities can provide salvation and among them, the city of Avantika is considered the best as the importance of Ujjain is slightly higher than other cities.
