At Excelsia University College, we take pride in seeing our graduates continue to grow, learn, and make a difference in the world. One such alumnus is Angita Dhaka, who completed her Graduate Diploma of Social Science with us in 2024 and is now pursuing a Master of Social Work (Qualifying).
Reflecting on her studies, Angita says she is most excited about learning practical skills that will enable her to support people and bring about real, positive change in their lives. ‘I enjoy learning practical skills to help people and make a real difference in their lives,’ she shares. Her time at Excelsia played a pivotal role in shaping both her personal and professional journey. ‘It helped me grow in confidence and resilience, and strengthened my passion for social justice and supporting others,’ Angita explains.
Beyond the classroom, Angita treasures the friendships and encouragement she found among her peers. ‘My favourite memory is the friendships I built with classmates and the encouragement we shared during our studies,’ she recalls. When asked what advice she would give to current students, Angita offers words of encouragement: ‘Believe in yourself, use the support available, and see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow.’
Support was central to her experience at Excelsia. ‘I felt supported by approachable lecturers, caring staff, and a welcoming environment that made me feel valued and encouraged.’
Angita’s journey is a testament to the impact of resilience, community, and a passion for helping others – values that continue to define the Excelsia experience.
