Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation Division
The M&E was established as a Unit in 2002 and later upgraded to Division status in 2007 with an appointment of an Assistant Director to strengthen and fully institutionalize the M and E system in recognition of the increasing importance of the M&E function to the mandate of the Institute.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Division (M&E), was established to monitor and evaluate the Institute`s programmes and projects to support effective delivery of the Institute’s mandate. The Division is mandated to take the lead role in coordinating all M&E activities in the Institute to achieve coherence, efficiency and effectiveness in the functioning of the M&E system.
The Division scheduled with the following mandate
Undertake physical monitoring of Research and Development projects and programmes
Budget Monitoring and preparation of Budget performance Reports including variance analysis to guide management in revenue generation efforts on the supply side and in expenditure management on the demand side. i.e To ensure the Institute’s Budget aligned with the work plan.
The Division is also responsible for preparing and tracking implementation of the Institute’s Short, Medium and Long term strategic Planning document and key policy initiatives.
To establish an effective well-functioning integrated Monitoring and Evaluation System for the Institute.
To monitor and evaluate progress of policies, projects and programmes under the purview of the Institute at regular intervals to ensure their successful implementation;
To collect, collate and analyse sector data on indicator achievements to facilitate reporting
Develop and rollout relevant M&E tools and processes that will support effective monitoring and reporting across the Departments and Divisions of the Institute
The Division is charged with the responsibility for the development and implementation of an integrated monitoring and evaluation system and processes to ensure timely implementation, reporting and feedback of lessons learnt from the rollout out of the policies and programs into the Institute’s decision making.
To prepare the Institute`s handing over notes every 5 years.
About Us
The first panzootic of Rinderpest in West Africa that occurred between 1885-1890, caused deaths of over 90% of the cattle population. The second wave of the panzootic occurred between 1913 and 1914 and culminated in a drastic reduction of cattle population from 9.01million to 2.7 million,
