Professional Training Programs
What are “Professional Training Programs”?
Professional training programs are advanced training programs in clinical and practical skills. They differ in content, objectives and educational outputs from academic degrees awarded by the university. They are offered by medical departments or units in collaboration within the Faculty of Medicine, as well as with partners inside and outside Cairo University.
Professional training programs focus on practical or clinical applications, in order to satisfy the “Continuous Professional Development” needs of practicing physicians. They include a system of continuous and comprehensive evaluation. The knowledge-based content does not exceed 25% of the total awarded points.
The duration of a professional training program is between 6 and 24 months, and with successful completion of the training, the participant is awarded a professional training certificate equivalent to 30-120 credit points.

How can Faculty Departments apply for a new Professional Training Program?
Department council(s) can submit a proposal for a new professional training program to the “Professional Training Programs Committee”, and a program coordinator is designated to be responsible for preparing and submitting the application documents, namely:
