The College of Agriculture and Hospitality Management (COAHM) was formally established in November 2023 following Senate approval and the final approval by the governing during the 55th statutory meeting of the University Council. Although the college was initially proposed at the inception of the university, it officially came to fruition in 2023, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to advancing agricultural sciences, hospitality, and tourism education.
Vision
To be a leading institution in agricultural innovation, sustainable hospitality management, and tourism development, producing highly skilled professionals equipped to address global challenges in food security, agribusiness, and hospitality services.
Mission
To provide quality education, research, and community engagement in agriculture, aquaculture, hospitality, and tourism, fostering entrepreneurship, sustainability, and technological advancement in these critical sectors.

Academic Programs
COAHM offers the following NUC-approved undergraduate programs:
1.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. Animal Science – Focuses on livestock production, animal nutrition, genetics, and health management.
2.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. Aquaculture and Fisheries – Covers sustainable fish farming, aquatic resource management, and fisheries technology.
3.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. Tourism and Hospitality Management – Prepares students for careers in hotel management, tourism operations, and event planning.
4.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. Agricultural Economics – Integrates economic principles with agribusiness, policy analysis, and rural development.
5.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. Agricultural Extension – Equips students with skills in rural communication, farmer education, and agricultural advisory services.
6.⁠ ⁠B.Sc. (Ed.) Agricultural Science Education – Combines agricultural training with pedagogical skills for teaching in secondary and tertiary institutions.
Infrastructure and Growth
The college operates from a *newly constructed structure on the main campus*, equipped with modern facilities, including:
•⁠ ⁠*Agricultural laboratories* for soil science, animal husbandry, and aquaculture research.
•⁠ ⁠*Hospitality training units* (mock hotel setups, culinary labs, and tourism simulation centers).
•⁠ ⁠*Smart classrooms* and e-learning resources to enhance interactive education.
Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation
All programs have successfully undergone the *National Universities Commission (NUC) resource assessment*, ensuring compliance with national academic standards. The college is committed to continuous improvement, with plans for postgraduate programs and industry partnerships in the near future.
Future Prospects
COAHM aims to:
•⁠ ⁠Expand research collaborations with agricultural firms, hospitality industries, and government agencies.
•⁠ ⁠Introduce postgraduate programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) in key disciplines.
