Jaguar Wellness Center
The Jag Wellness Center at Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) serves as a comprehensive hub dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being, academic success, and personal development of students, faculty, and staff. The center integrates mental, emotional, physical, and academic support services under one unified model to foster a healthy, inclusive, and resilient campus community.
Southern University Wellness Counselor and MH advocates are trained to respond to mental and emotional support for the students. In addition, the Jag Wellness Center provides crisis Intervention to support students experiencing emotional distress, mental health emergencies, or personal crisis. The goal is to ensure student safety, stabilization, and connection to appropriate care.
Confidentiality:
All JWC records are strictly confidential and do not become part of University records. Records may be released only upon the student's written consent. The exception to this strict confidentiality occurs only if the student poses a threat of serious harm to self or others, is gravely disabled, or when required by law.
