All transfer applicants must use our Rutgers Application. The Common Application is specifically for fall, first-year students applying to Rutgers for the first time and seeking full-time degree study.
When applying to Rutgers University through the Common App, please add Rutgers to your My Colleges list. Once you have added Rutgers University, you will be prompted to answer questions for the desired fall term. Under the “Academics” section of the Rutgers Common App questions, you will be prompted to select the schools you wish to apply to. You may select schools from our different regional campuses: Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick. Please be sure all information is listed as desired before completing and submitting the application.
A non-refundable application fee or a fee waiver is required. Check your eligibility for a need-based fee waiver in your Common App profile section. If you meet the Common App fee waiver criteria, your application fee will be waived. To receive a Common App fee waiver, you must affirm at least one of the following indicators of economic need:
I have received or am eligible to receive an ACT or SAT testing fee waiver;
I am enrolled in or am eligible to participate in the Federal Free or Reduced Price Lunch (FRPL) program;
My annual family income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service;
I am enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound)
My family received public assistance;
I live in federally subsidized public housing, a foster home, or am homeless;
I am a ward of the state or an orphan;
I can provide a supporting statement from a school official, college access counselor, financial aid officer, or community leader.
