The College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education hosts the Central State University Mass Communications Center, housing WCSU Radio and On Our Own Radio, which offers students the opportunity to engage with broadcast news and radio without leaving campus. The Mass Communications Center, TV studio, and radio stations are open to students from Central State's three academic colleges.

The Ohio Education Association (OEA) represents over 120,000 teachers, faculty members, and support professionals working in Ohio's schools, colleges, and universities. Local affiliates champion their members and the broader cause of public education, aligning with and advancing the objectives of the OEA and the National Education Association. Students studying for education degrees are encouraged to get involved early to take advantage of the opportunities and networking available through the OEA.
