College Credit Plus
Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. All public colleges and universities in Ohio are required to participate in College Credit Plus. The purpose of Ohio's College Credit Plus program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options for college-ready students. As Ohio's only public Historically Black College or University and 1890 Land-Grant Institution, Central State University offers a unique approach to positive learning experiences for students from diverse backgrounds. Plus, Central State is among the most affordable four-year public universities in Ohio.

Getting started with College Credit Plus
To be eligible, students must:
Be an Ohio resident
Be enrolled in grades 7-12 in any Ohio public, private, or homeschool
Demonstrate college readiness through one of the following:
Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.0
Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of at least 2.75 and have received an "A" or "B" grade in a relevant course
Obtain a remediation-free score on one of the standard assessment exams
eligible test score
Additional requirements for home-school and non-public school students
Students attending home school or non-public school must comply with Central State University Admissions requirements and follow the Ohio Department of Education guidelines to apply for funding or pay out of pocket for tuition fees, and books.

Ohio Department of Higher Education
and must be completed by each CCP student.
ENG 1101 — Introduction to College Writing
ENG 1102 — Writing & Researching the Essay
MTH 1750 — College Algebra
Level 1 courses are designed to give students exposure to potential majors and career fields. Students should consult with their school counselor before enrolling in classes.
Students must meet all prerequisites before enrolling in these additional Level 1 courses.

Talk with your high school counselor, parents, or guardians to discuss your interest in taking college courses at Central State University. College Credit Plus classes are offered on local high school campuses, on campus at Central State University, and online.
Feb. 1 - April 1:
Your school district will provide information about the College Credit Plus program to all students in grades 7-12.
April 1:
Students interested in participating must notify their school counselor by April 1. After April 1, you will need permission from the school district superintendent to participate.
June 1:
Apply at the Central State University Application Center
August:
Central State University’s fall semester starts in August. If you are admitted, you will be invited to participate in an orientation session prior to the start of the term that will include instructions on how to register for courses. You should also consult with your high school counselor to ensure high school requirements will be met by the college courses you choose.
