Your Journey to AIIAS: A Leap of Faith

Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”
As chaplain at AIIAS, I’m privileged each semester to welcome new students and hear the remarkable stories of how God led them here—stories marked by faith, perseverance, and divine providence. That first step toward AIIAS is often taken in faith. Whether you are a student, faculty member, staff, or administrator, coming to AIIAS usually means stepping into the unknown—leaving behind the familiar, and trusting God with what’s ahead.
The road to AIIAS is rarely straightforward. From the first inquiry about graduate programs to the maze of applications, visa processes (for international students), financial challenges, and sometimes even the hurdle of passing an English language class before enrollment—it’s a journey often marked by uncertainty. Yet it’s also a journey of hope. It’s in those moments of doubt and delay that many discover something deeper: this journey is not just about earning a degree—it’s about growing in Christ, finishing strong, and being shaped for service. Along the way, you’ll encounter a team of people who are here to walk with you—long before you set foot on campus and every day thereafter. The Admissions Office, Chaplain’s Office, AIIAS Housing, Registrar, Finance Office, Program Directors, and the Student Association Council are more than names at the bottom of emails. They are real people with real hearts, praying for you and committed to your success.
If you’re still considering whether to apply or you’ve already taken the plunge—be encouraged. Trust the process. More importantly, Are you seeking a deeper place, To grow in wisdom, truth, and grace? A calling higher, clear, and true—Graduate studies shaped for you. Beneath tall trees and skies so wide, Where cultures blend and faiths abide, Our campus hums with prayer and song, A peaceful home where you belong. Along green lanes where breezes play, You’ll find God’s presence day by day. In quiet corners, hearts are still, To listen, learn, and seek His will. AIIAS Admissions stands with doors unbarred, To guide each step though paths seem hard. Not papers, forms, or grades alone, But dreams and hearts to God are shown. Connect with your AIIAS community trust the God who is writing your story. He is the One who called you here, and He is faithful.
One day, you will look back and see clearly—God didn’t just lead you to AIIAS; He brought you here to shape you and to use you as a blessing to this community.
So, are you a new student, faculty, or staff member? Take heart. And to use a beloved AIIAS expression, “Press on.” A beautiful chapter of your life is just beginning.
As Scripture reminds us: “The ones who calls you is faith, and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NIV)
