If you are interested in attending Cleary University, or you have attended in the past and would like to return, you will need to apply for admission. A Cleary University Student Veterans Coordinator will help you utilize your benefits under Chapter 30 (Montgomery GI Bill® – Active Duty Program), Chapter 33 (Post-9/11 GI Bill®), Chapter 1606, Chapter 31, and Chapter 35. Below is a checklist that will walk you through the steps to admission. During the application process, you will work with our staff and we will assist you in gathering all the information you need to apply. Request a copy of your DD-214 for Michigan Veterans
Military Training or Experience
Cleary University recognizes college credit for military training and experience. While working towards your undergraduate degree, you may be awarded three semester elective credits for each year of active military service up to a maximum of 15 semester hours. To receive credit for military service, students should submit a copy of the discharge for (DD214). If a review of a student’s military training records indicates there is a potential for greater credit award, copies of the military training records and/or a copy of the transfer or discharge for (DD214) will be submitted to the American Council on Education, Department of Military Evaluations, for a credit recommendation.

Military Guaranteed Tuition Rate
If you are called into active duty while you are taking classes at Cleary University, and you are not able to complete your degree requirements, we will hold your tuition rate for up to nine months after you have been released from active duty, provided the absence does not exceed five years.

forms student veterans are required to fill out before each semester.

Students using Chapter 31 and Chapter 33 will have the payment sent directly to the University. *This typically takes 1-2 weeks from the 14th day, but can vary greatly. Please contact the Student Veterans Coordinator with any questions related to your benefits.

After the “Add/Drop” deadline (10th day), the Certifying Official will begin processing certification for each student using VA Education Benefits.
50% Military Service Grant for Graduate Students
This grant is available to current active military or honorably discharged veterans
after
all of your VA benefits have been exhausted or expired.
Students are required to annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and accept any grants and/or scholarships for which they may be eligible.
Honorably discharged veterans are required to provide a copy of their DD214.
Students may use the current scholarship application to apply (essay requirement waived).
Students are required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and successfully complete classes to maintain eligibility.
