Gynaecological surgery and services
Gynaecology is the diagnosis and management of issues affecting women’s reproductive systems.
Gynaecology is concerned with a range of common gynaecological conditions such as menstrual pain and heavy bleeding, endometriosis, pelvic pain and problems with the pelvic floor.
You may also see a gynaecological oncologist who is a subspecialist, highly trained in managing cancers.
For some, gynaecological issues can affect not only their physical health but also their emotional wellbeing. Our experienced caregivers are on hand to support you at all times.

What is the difference between gynaecology and obstetrics?
In general terms, gynaecology relates to women who aren’t pregnant, while obstetrics relates to pregnant women and their unborn children.
Many physicians are qualified as both gynaecologists and obstetricians, enabling them to provide care for a range of concerns that women may have during pregnancy. Some have specific areas of interest such as high risk pregnancy, prolapse surgery, laparoscopic surgery or cancer surgery.
