As of August 1, 2024, our 100-year-old North Building (our exhibits and public programs building) is closed indefinitely due to outdated and faulty electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems. There is currently no plan to reopen the building. University of Arizona administrators are weighing options and working on a three-building plan to accommodate all of ASM's needs for its collections, personnel, and public programs. At this time, there are no solid details to share, nor a timeline. We will post updates when they become available to us.
