Chorus - Greater Atlanta Christian School
Chorus
Making waves in Norcross and around the nation.
Choral music has been the heartbeat of GAC since the early days of the school.  With a tradition of outreach, the choral students not only perform on campus, but also around the country.  Middle school choirs take tours around the southeast. Multiple students have been selected to national honor ensembles and Georgia All-State Chorus each year.
The Literary Team singers are consistently awarded at the Region and State levels, and the Concert Choir has been selected multiple times to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  With a newly renovated choral rehearsal space in the Sara D. Williams Fine Arts Center and Artusa Hall in the Performing Arts Center, GAC’s state of the art facilities provide incredible opportunities to grow as a musician.
Concert Choir
Select Choir
GAC’s Concert Choir is the flagship ensemble for GAC. With a history spanning the entire existence of the school (with a few name changes along the way), the Concert Choir has a legacy of top-notch choral music and outreach to the community.  Students perform a variety of music each year ranging from standard choral literature, spirituals and gospel music, pop and contemporary, and much more.

Treble Choir, 6th grade
Rising Voices, 7th and 8th grade
Primarily performing two-part music, the group learns to communicate the language of music and develop as an ensemble and individual vocalists.  The singers have the opportunity to perform on many concerts on campus throughout the year, sing at the Sixth-Grade Statewide Honor Chorus, perform for multiple statewide adjudications and take educational field trips.
This three-part group begins to explore a wider variety of choral music and broadens their musical skill set to engage more fully in communicating through music.  Singers in this ensemble have their first opportunity to audition for the Georgia All-State Chorus, perform many times on campus, perform for multiple statewide adjudications and festivals, and take educational field trips.

Promises Elementary Chorus
Promises Elementary Chorus provides a holistic musical experience for fourth and fifth grade singers.  An auditioned group of 50-70 students, Promises performs on the GAC campus, in our Atlanta community, and around the southeastern United States.  In addition to healthy vocal technique, music reading, and music theory, young singers master a wide variety of vocal styles including sacred songs, spirituals, art songs, classical repertoire, Broadway tunes, new music, and world music.
Leadership, kindness, service, and responsibility are also an important part of the Promises experience as these students become ambassadors for GAC in many places.
Our annual spring trip has visited destinations such as Huntsville, AL;  Charleston, SC; Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN; Chattanooga, TN; Georgia Gold Isles; and Asheville, NC.  Promises Chorus serves as an important stepping stone into Middle and High School choral activities and all performing ensembles at GAC.
