Our Work
The Detroit Health Department has served Detroiters for more than a century. Today, we are building a modern public health department that is visible, responsive, and grounded in the everyday realities of the communities we serve.
Our work goes beyond traditional health services. We advance a Health in All Policies approach, recognizing that health is shaped by housing, transportation, environmental conditions, economic opportunity, and access to care. We partner across city government and with community organizations to ensure that health is considered in every decision that shapes life in Detroit.
