The National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine (NSMLU) is a leading scientific and information institution in the field of health care in Ukraine, one of the largest systems of biomedical literature collections in Europe, the national book depository of the collection of medical publications. The library provides access to global information resources and, based on the introduction of the latest technologies, it ensures the information needs to all categories of healthcare professionals, as well as specialists in the related fields of knowledge on the basis of accessibility, efficiency and comfort. NSMLU is a leading scientific and research center carrying out biographical studies and research on the history of medicine; it performs the functions of the organizational, scientific and methodological center of the network of medical libraries of Ukraine, educational and socio-cultural institution, state depository, branch, as well as patent, regulatory and technical scientific medical and health care documentation exchange center.
