Library Services & Research
Library Services supports State of Nevada agencies and employees, as well as Nevada’s academic, school, public, and special libraries--and the residents of the Silver State. As the primary depository for all State of Nevada government publications, we maintain a rich collection used for education, scholarly research, and business.
Our holdings include Nevada newspapers and historical records on microfilm and microfiche; federal, state, county, and city government publications; maps; and an extensive range of books on Nevada history, culture, and communities--from mining and the Old West to organized crime, prominent historical figures, and Indigenous peoples.
Explore the links below to discover what we offer. Many of the Nevada State Library's research tools and online resources are available from home with a
Nevada State Library card
, along with state wide databases accessible through public, school, and academic libraries across Nevada.
Some resources can only be used in the Library like Candid and ancestry.com.
