Overcoming challenges at one of the most prestigious academic competitions in Vietnam for Mathematics, the VinUni team outstandingly brought home 4 honored prizes at the 2026 National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad (*) held at Quy Nhon University.
In this year’s competition, despite strong competition from top universities across the country, our VinUni students from the Computer Science program (College of Engineering and Computer Science) delivered outstanding performances in Division A – the highest level of the competition. Our honorees include:
Nguyen Cung Thanh (Sophomore): Second Prize in Algebra
Pham Le Thien Trieu (Freshman): Second Prize in Calculus
Luu Viet Bach (Freshman): Third Prize in Calculus
Nguyen Trong Nguyen (Freshman): Third Prize in Algebra
Under the dedicated mentorship of Assistant Professor Vu Van Khu from College of Engineering and Computer Science and experienced advisors, the students were trained with a rigorous, high-intensity timeline. Our big congratulations go to Professor Vu Van Khu and our Computer Science “warriors” for their exceptional performance. This success will inspire VinUni students to keep exploring and achieving more in their academic journey.
(*) The National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad is one of the prestigious academic competitions for students with outstanding mathematical abilities, taking place from April 6th to 11th, 2026 at Quy Nhon University, attracting more than 660 students from 90 universities and colleges nationwide.
