Institutional Accreditation
Trocaire College is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission;
www.msche.org
.). The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status, which occurred on June 27, 2019, was to reaffirm accreditation. The next Self-Study Evaluation by the Commission is slated for: 2027-2028. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
Trocaire is approved by MSCHE to offer programs via distance education. Included in the scope of MSCHE accreditation, Trocaire may offer: Postsecondary awards (< 1 year); Postsecondary awards (1-2 years); Postsecondary awards (2-4 years); Associate’s Degrees or Equivalent; and Bachelor’s Degrees or Equivalent. Locations in the scope of accreditation include: the Trocaire College Main Campus at 360 Choate Ave., Buffalo, NY 14220-2094, the Additional Location at 6681 Transit Road, Lancaster, NY 14086, and the Other Instructional Site at Bishop Timon High School, 601 McKinley Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14220.
Articulation Agreements
Trocaire College is dedicated to creating partnerships with peer institutions.
One important way of doing this is by forming articulation agreements. An articulation agreement is an officially approved agreement that matches coursework or programs between schools. Articulation agreements are designed to help students make a smooth transition when transferring from a prior institution to Trocaire College.
Below is a list of institutions with whom we have established articulation agreements.

Trocaire College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
Student Financial Assistance
The two major sources are the Federal Pell program and the State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Please note: Anyone convicted and having completed incarceration for a forcible or non-forcible sexual offense is ineligible to receive a Federal Pell grant.
Federal Student Financial Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations:
A federal or state drug conviction can disqualify a student for Federal Student Aid (FSA) funds. The student self-certifies in applying for aid that he/she is eligible. A conviction for any offense involving sale or possession of illegal drugs that occurred during a period of enrollment for which the student was receiving Title IV aid will result in loss of eligibility for any Title IV, HEA grant, loan or work-study assistance. A student regains eligibility the day after the period of ineligibility ends or when he successfully completes a qualified drug rehabilitation program. HEA Section 484(r), 34 CFR 668.40

Trocaire College will determine a student’s location at time of application, during which students provide their home or permanent address. Professional Licensure Disclosures
Effective July 1, 2024, federal regulation requires institutions of higher education to make a determination whether a Title IV eligible academic program that leads to professional licensure or certification meets the educational requirements for licensure/certification in the U.S. State where the institution is located and the U.S. States where “distance education” students are located at the time of initial enrollment in the program, as well as U.S. States where the program is advertised as meeting such requirements, and if applicable, the U.S. State where students attest they intend to be licensed/certified.
This Disclosure is strictly limited to Trocaire’s determination of whether its educational programs, if successfully completed, would be sufficient to meet the educational licensure or certification requirements in another state. Trocaire College cannot verify an individual’s ability to meet licensure or certification requirements unrelated to its educational programming. Such individual determinations are made by state licensing boards and are fact-specific determinations. This disclosure does not provide any guarantee that any particular state licensure or certification entity will approve or deny your application. Furthermore, this disclosure does not account for changes in state law or regulation that may affect your application for licensure and occur after this disclosure has been made.
