Navajo Area Indian Health Service
The School of Transformation at Diné College is honored to collaborate with the Indian Health Service (IHS) to offer clinical education opportunities for students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician Certification Program. Through this partnership, students gain real-world experience in federally operated healthcare settings while learning from practicing professionals within the IHS system. This agreement allows eligible students to complete required clinical rotations at IHS facilities, where they apply classroom knowledge in a supervised, hands-on environment. Students are trained in accordance with IHS Pharmacy Practice Standards and are expected to uphold the highest levels of patient confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. This partnership enhances student readiness for employment and supports the development of skilled healthcare professionals serving Tribal communities.
Acknowledgment of Support
The
School of Transformation at Diné College
respectfully acknowledges the unwavering support of the
Navajo Nation Council
and the
Navajo Department of Diné Education
, whose advocacy for workforce development and education continues to empower our communities. We extend our deepest gratitude to the
Honorable Delegate Carl Slater
for his leadership and vision in championing initiatives that expand access to credentialing and career advancement opportunities for our Navajo people.
Through the collaborative efforts of Delegate Slater and key partners such as
AspireAbility
, we have been granted the opportunity to build programs that not only meet national standards but are also deeply rooted in serving the unique needs of the Navajo Nation. We are equally grateful for the guidance and commitment of
Diné College leadership
, whose dedication has been instrumental in the growth and impact of the School of Transformation.
Together, these partnerships allow us to fulfill our mission: to offer transformative, accessible, and culturally grounded education that leads to meaningful employment and stronger Tribal communities.
