Additional Resources for Veteran Students
Yellow Ribbon Program
Columbia College Chicago is a participant in the Yellow Ribbon program. If you are 100% eligible for this program, you will receive an additional $7,000 per school year ($3,500 from Columbia and $3,500 from the VA) added to your Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Yellow Ribbon amount is subject to change.
Military Credit Transfer
Transfer credit from the military can be combined with credit from a regionally accredited two-year institution, Advanced Placement, CLEP and/or Life Experience, up to 75 credits, subject to Columbia's transfer credit policies.
Life Credit Transfer
Up to 16 credits of Life Experience credit can be combined with credit from a regionally accredited two-year institution, military, Advanced Placement and/or CLEP, up to 75 total credits, subject to Columbia's policies.
Post-9/11 GI Bill®
Columbia students are eligible for Federal GI Bill® benefits. But because we are a private college, students are not eligible for Illinois state veterans' benefits.
