Norse Myths & What They’re Not
The stories of gods and heroes passed down from the Vikings have been a source of delight and fascination for 800 years. Everyone from N.F.S. Grundtvig to the Grimm Brothers to Marvel has added and changed the texture of Odin, Thor, and Loki. In this talk, Adam peels back some of the layers of this mythology to show how it related to how the Vikings saw the world around them. Whether it’s debunking some myths about the myths or showcasing new research on the nature of the gods themselves, Adam brings his expertise as an academic in Vikings to give a new introduction to these ancient tales.
