About Our Faculty
With membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities, we seek the best and brightest faculty who exemplify the highest standards in teaching, research and scholarship.
As of fall 2023, we had more than 4,100 faculty. Almost 90% of our faculty hold doctoral degrees or terminal degrees in their field, and 330 hold endowed professorships or chairs. Fifty-six faculty are members of the
National Academies
, made up of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Medicine.
