Giving to NWA
We offer many ways to support Northwest Academy beyond writing a donation check. Other ways to give include:
List of 6 items.
Endowments
Endowments are named, restricted funds with a specific use to be determined by the donor with approval from the Head of School. Endowed funds may be established with a minimum initial donation of $20,000. Once endowed, additional gifts can be made at any time.
Currently, Northwest Academy has the following endowed funds:
Marly Stone Endowment
Saima & Gale Vinton Endowment
For more information about making a gift to an endowed fund or to establish a new endowment, please email our
Development Department
or call 503-223-3367 x310.
Gifts of Stock & Appreciated Securities
Many donors choose to make their gifts in the form of stock, bonds, or mutual funds. Gifts of appreciated securities (held for more than one year) may allow the donor to avoid capital gains tax and also receive a tax deduction at the same time. If you would like to find out more about donating stock, email our
Development Department
or call 503-223-3367 x310 for more information.
Vehicle Donations
Northwest Academy partners with Volunteers of America to accept vehicle donations. Unwanted cars, trucks, boats, or other vehicles are accepted and are a great, tax-deductible way to support Northwest Academy. Visit
charity-connections.org
for details, or contact the development office for more information.
Employer Matching Programs
Your employer may offer matching gifts for your donations or volunteer hours. Some require the use of an employee portal, others will match gifts given directly to the school. Check with your employer to see if they have a matching program and for more information.
While this list is not exhaustive, the following employers will generously match gifts of time and/or treasure to Northwest Academy:
Bank of America
Cisco Corporation
Davidson Companies
Fidelity
IBM Corporation
Intel Corporation
Kaiser Permanente
Mentor Graphics
Microsoft
Moda Health
Morgan Stanley
Nike, Inc.
Novellus Systems, Inc.
NVIDIA
Oracle
Pfizer
PGE
Piper Jaffray
Regence BlueCross BlueShield
Charles Schwab Corporation
Symantec Corporation
Synopsys
Tektronix
Wells Fargo Bank
Wieden+Kennedy
Volunteering
Equally important to our fundraising efforts are the fair-share volunteer hours our community contributes each year. We ask every family to commit to at least ten fair-share hours per academic year, though many families contribute much more. Fair-share hours create a meaningful way to get involved, enrich and support the school, and create community. Northwest Academy has a range of opportunities to provide everyone the chance to make a difference in the lives of our students.
For information about volunteering, please email our
Development Department
or call 503-223-3367 x310.
In-Kind Gifts
The majority of our in-kind gifts are donations to our Annual Gala or other school events. If you would like to donate an item to our auction, please email our
Development Department
or call 503-223-3367 x310.
Other in-kind donations, such as artwork, musical instruments, technology, or office furnishings, can be helpful as well. Please contact the
development office
to see if we have a current need for your donation.
